You may know her from FXX’s “You’re the Worst”, IFC’s “Stan Against Evil”, as the voice of Korra on Nickelodeon’s “The Legend of Korra” or perhaps even from her own podcast “The JV Club with Janet Varney” - but San Francisco knows her as one of the driving forces behind the preeminent comedy festival, SF Sketchfest.
Every year I’m pleasantly surprised by the diversity of the people in my social circle who say they’re going to SF Sketchfest. Upon further inspection this shouldn’t come as a shock at all, as every year SF Sketchfest continues to evolve and grow and yet still bring in consistently stellar talent. I had the chance to chat with one of the co-founders (who just happens to star on one of my favorite shows, “You’re the Worst”) about the festival's (and a bit of her) origin story.
