Awards season properly kicks off with “First Man”, the slightly more crowd friendly “Bad Times at the El Royale” and the Oscar Wilde biopic “The Happy Prince.”
First Man” reunites La La Land director Damien Chazelle with star Ryan Gosling. It tells the story of Neil Armstrong (with Gosling starring). It also has Claire Foy, Kyle Chandler, Pablo Schreiber, Corey Stoll, Jason Clarke, Shea Wigham, Ethan Embry, and Cirian Hinds.
Then there’s the thriller from Drew Goddard, “Bad Times at the El Royale” starring Chris Hemsworth, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Ervio, Nick Offerman AND Chris Hemsworth’s abs.
Finally there’s “The Happy Prince” the Oscar Wilde biopic directed / written by and starring Rupert Everett as Wilde. Fellow Brits Colin Firth, Colin Morgan, and Emily Watson join.
