Guess it's one of those weekends to skip the movies... I've got the Jennifer Garner vigilante/revenge thriller, "Peppermint" and the botched puppet comedy, "The Happytime Murders."
I had pretty low expectations for "Peppermint" and in fairness the film exceeded them, but that's a pretty low bar. From Pierre Morel, the director of "Taken" this film is filled with somewhat senseless violence. John Gallager Jr, John Ortiz and Method Man also star.
The same could actually be said of "The Happytime Murders" which I had such high hopes for. From Brian Henson (son of Jim) and starring Melissa McCarthy and a bunch of puppets, I wanted this to be "Avenue Q" levels good. Unfortunately it was nowhere close. McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, Elizabeth Banks, and Joel McHale also star.
