Let’s kick off 2019 with some of the award contenders from last year, including “The Favourite” which people won’t stop talking about (much to my chagrin) and “Destroyer”.
“The Favourite” is from a director I admire very much, Yorgos Lanthimos (he did “The Lobster” and “Killing of a Sacred Deer”) and stars Emma Stone, Olivia Colman, Rachel Weisz, Joe Alwyn, Nicholas Hoult and Mark Gatiss.
Then there’s “Destroyer” which is Nicole Kidman’s “Monster” (as in a gorgeous actress wears some busted up makeup and tries to be all gritty). It stars Kidman, Sebastian Stan, Tatiana Maslany, Toby Kebbell, and Bradley Whitford.
