REVIEW: “BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY” “NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS” & “BOY ERASED”

This week brings the Queen biopic, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, the too early Christmas film “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” and the based on a true story “Boy Erased.”

While “Bohemian Rhapsody” does a great job of highlighting the music of Queen, it’s the plot bits in between that fall short. Starring Rami Malek, Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, Joseph Mazzello, Aiden Gillen, Tom Hollander, Allen Leech, and Mike Myers.

Meanwhile Disney decided to release their Christmas film, “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” in early November, and by release I mean bury. The hot mess of a movie stars Mackenzie Foy, Keira Knightley, Eugenio Derbez, Misty Copeland, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Matthew Macfadyen, Richard E. Grant, and Jack Whitehall.

Thankfully there’s one good film coming out this week (though the material is not easy to deal with) and that’s “Boy Erased” based on Garrard Conley’s memoir of the same name. The film which was written, directed, and features Joel Edgerton – deals with the horrifying practice of conversion therapy. It stars Lucas Hedges, Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, Troye Sivan, and Flea.
