Streaming from home continues with the charming “The Half of It” and the less successful “Spaceship Earth” and “How to Build a Girl.”
Netflix’s delightful “The Half of It” is a classic plot with a modern twist. It’s like Cyrano de Bergerac but in 2020 (so with people of color and a sexuality spectrum). Leah Lewis, Alexxis Lemire, Daniel Diemer, and Collin Chou star. Alice Wu writes and directs.
“Spaceship Earth” is a documentary about people who volunteered to live in isolation for 2 years…. so might not be the best time to watch this depending on how you’re feeling.
”How to Build a Girl” could have been a great movie but the usually watchable Beanie Feldstein struggles with the accent. Feldstein, Alfie Allen, Paddy Considine, Chris O’Dowd, and Emma Thompson star.
