“Trolls World Tour” is a glorified technicolor animated music video with a lot of famous voices. While I had high hopes for Alan Yang’s “Tigertail” on Netflix, I think ultimately I prefer “Tiger King.” This story of a Taiwanese immigrant should have hit home for me but ended up being more of a cliche than expected.
“Selah and the Spades” is another in the continuing line of wilder and wilder teenage stories, at least this time it involves people of color. Lovie Simone, Jharrel Jerome, Celese O’Connor, Jesse Williams, and Gina Torres star.
Finally “The Other Lamb” is cult-ish and weird, but not weird enough. Faffey Cassidy and Michiel Huisman star.
